Judd Trump scored two centuries as he advanced to the third round of the Northern Ireland Open by defeating Belgian Julien Leclercq 4-0 in Belfast.

The world number three knocked in breaks of 108 in the opening two frames and followed that up with a 55 before tying up the win in just 45 minutes.

Trump is targeting a fourth NI Open title, having lifted the Alex Higgins Trophy in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

He is also aiming for a third consecutive ranking title this season.

The 2019 world champion has secured back-to-back tournament victories in the English Open and Wuhan Open.

Barry Hawkins, who recently won the European Masters, stayed in contention for the £80,000 first prize by beating Chinese player Jiang Jun 4-1.

The world number 14 compiled a highest break of 81 in getting across the line at the Waterfront Hall.

Meanwhile another English competitor, Joe Perry, equalled his highest ever professional break in seeing off Welshman Michael White 4-3 to move into the last 32.

The 2022 Welsh Open champion put together a total clearance of 145 in frame three to put himself in pole position for the highest break prize of £5,000.

Perry also had runs of 99 in frame two and 66 in the seventh and deciding frame to book his passage.

The world number 27 has previously been a semi-finalist twice at the Northern Ireland Open.

Among the other winners on the third day of competition were former world champion Stuart Bingham, who beat Xu Si 4-1, and Ricky Walden, who defeated Dominic Dale 4-3. Walden and Dale will meet in the last 32.
