For the first time ever, the Sedona Parks and Recreation Department will offer Winter Youth Swim Lessons over the holiday break, providing an exciting opportunity for youth to dive in to the world of swimming at the Sedona Community Pool.

Registration for this highly requested program is currently open now, offering access to lessons for all skill levels, ages three and up for a nominal fee of $25.

There will be six lessons in total, one each day on Dec. 26 – Dec. 28, 2023 and Jan. 2. – Jan. 4, 2024, in one of four time slots:

  • 11 a.m.
  • 11:40 a.m.
  • 2:15 p.m.
  • 3 p.m.

With 20 open spots available per time slot, participants will follow the StarFish Aquatics curriculum and have a great opportunity to learn to swim whether it is their first time in a swim program or have taken summer swim lessons for years.

Because there are limited spots available, early registration is encouraged to secure a spot

“I’m excited to be able to offer this first-time program that will keep children connected to the water in the summer and the winter, so that they can develop their swimming abilities and gain water confidence in a safe and encouraging environment,” said Aquatics and Athletics Supervisor Carmen Brashier.

The pool is heated to 84 degrees and temporary heaters are planned to be placed on the pool deck during the lessons. To register, please visit www.SedonaAZ.gov/Pool and complete the registration form along with the $25 payment. For any questions, reach out to Brashier at cbrashier@sedonaaz.gov or call the Parks and Recreation Department main line 928-282-7098.
