How To Follow Your Swim Passion Into A Business

n the SwimSwam Podcast dive deeper into the sport you love with insider conversations about swimming. Hosted by Coleman Hodges, Garrett McCaffrey, and Gold Medal Mel Stewart, SwimSwam welcomes both the biggest names in swimming that you already know, and rising stars that you need to get to know, as we break down the past, present, and future of aquatic sports.

I’ve known Lynne Anderson for years. Lynne’s kind of famous in our sport as the Founder and CEO of Smack Swim.  Lynne’s been an ad partner with SwimSwam forever, so we talk a lot about swim businesses, but I always knew there was more to her story.  Today I got it in this podcast.

Lynne grew up swimming, swam in college, then launched a hard-driving career on Wall Street, but something was missing.  Lynne wanted to do what she loved, and she missed and loved swimming. So, she started an aquatic team dealer company and ran it for years.  Lynne learned the aquatic retail market as a team dealer, and she wanted to do more–to be creative.  That’s when the idea came to design a goggle strap that would be the most comfortable strap you could wear. Anyone who swims hours on end, week in and week out, understands this.  Lynne got a patent on her design and Smack Swim Strap born.  Now she’s taken the innovation to swimsuits with her Smack Swim Strap (see below).  I love entrepreneurs, especially entrepreneurs that focus their energies in swimming.  I hope you enjoy this conversation, and if you have a great swim business idea, maybe this talk will inspire you to act on it.

Swimsuits are an essential part of all swimmers equipment but often if the straps are too tight or after much extended period of wearing  they can cause “shoulder tension and chaffing”. Smack Suit is a unique braided elastic swimsuit strap which is specifically designed to reduce pressure on the swimmers shoulders.

The Smack Suit is designed specifically to provide excellent fit, comfort, and support while providing even pressure distribution over the whole upper body. This means the Smack suit is fitted with Smack Straps which provides no undue stress on the swimmers shoulders.

Smack Strap’s secret is in using a braided composite material that gives superior mechanical properties while providing the wearer with extreme comfort. This material is highly durable and resilient to chemicals used in swimming pools. In addition Smack Suit has fully adjustable swimsuit straps that can be worn 3 different ways to give the wearer the perfect fit for their comfort needs.

Smack Strap is available in a range of exciting color styles and is available at www.smackswim.com.

Swim gear information is courtesy of Smack Swim, a SwimSwam partner.
