He might still be one of the top names in the game, but away from the table snooker legend Ken Doherty’s life has changed completely after his 20-year-marriage came to an end.
It’s hard to believe that it is nearly 30 years since the Dublin man won the World Championship back in 1997.
And these days while he remains heavily involved with the game, be it playing or commentating, these days there is only one person he looks for in the crowd- his son Christian.

Ken parted ways from his ex-wife Sarah two years ago, saying at the time that it was ‘an amicable split’ and that they are ‘still friends’ and re-focused on co-parenting their son.
When asked about how he feels being on the dating market by EVOKE, after 20 years of marriage the star said: ‘It’s strange.’
‘When you get married you think it is for life. But if it doesn’t work out, it doesn’t work out.
‘I think the most important thing for me and from the separation from my wife was that it hasn’t affected my son. And my son and I are very, very close… He’s 16. We’ve just come back from a holiday together.’
While the 54-year-old said: ‘It’s a strange thing but life goes on.’ However, when asked if he would dip his toe in the dating world or online it was a resounding no.
For now, the snooker player is happy hanging out with his son and pocketing a few.
