Jannick Sinner is the world’s best player and a harsh reality check for Daniil Medvedev.
The top-seeded Sinner has won seven of his last eight meetings vs. Medvedev ahead of their round-robin showdown on Wednesday at the ATP Finals in Turin.

In a topsy-turvy Australian Open final last January, Sinner roared back from a two-set deficit defeating Daniil Medvedev 3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 to capture his maiden major championship.
The 22-year-old Sinner made history as the first Italian to win the Australian Open singles crown and follows legendary Adriano Pannatta, the 1976 Roland Garros champion, as the first Italian man in 48 years to raise a Grand Slam title trophy.
Ahead of their Turin rematch, Medvedev said the toughest challenge of facing the Italian is you can play your best tennis and still lose.
“I feel like, it’s going to sound strange because I lost a lot of matches, but I feel like tactically I know what I have to do,” Medvedev told the media in Turn. “It’s just a problem the guy’s playing really good. You can do the best match possible tactically, tennis-wise, and you can still lose. That’s the reality. It’s not an easy reality.
“Now as I said after the match today, I’m ready, I go out, I play my tennis, I lose easy, it’s okay. I win easy, it’s perfect. I lose tough, it’s okay. I win tough, it’s perfect. I will see how it goes. I will try to prepare well tactically and I will just go for it.”
