World Women’s Snooker (WWS), the Chinese Billiards and Snooker Association (CBSA) and Cantonese Snooker (Changping) are delighted to jointly announce that the World Women’s Snooker Championship will return to Dongguan Changping, China from 20 May 2025.
The announcement follows the landmark first staging of the event in Changping last year which saw home star Bai Yulu become world champion following a thrilling final and earn qualification to the mixed gender World Snooker Tour for the first time.
The biggest ever staging of the Championship attracted an all-star field of players and witnessed outstanding viewership with cumulative viewing figures of 175.4 million and total accumulated viewing time totalling 104.7 million hours.
2025
This year’s event is provisionally set to run from 20-27 May 2025, with the exact duration of the event to be confirmed in due course. Further information, including the confirmed venue and how to enter, will also follow as soon as possible.
Ideally situated close to major transport hubs in Guangzhou and Hong Kong China, Dongguan Changping is set to welcome players from around the world to compete for the greatest prize in women’s snooker.
The prestigious tournament will continue to be supported by snooker’s world governing body the WPBSA, in partnership with China’s national governing body the CBSA, event promoter Cantonese Snooker and the Changping government. All parties remain committed to the long-term development of the World Women’s Snooker Championship and the growth of women’s snooker globally.
The event will also include the World Women’s Under-21 Snooker Championship and the World Women’s Seniors Championship, won by Bai Yulu and England’s Tessa Davidson respectively last year.

“Last year’s event was a dream come true for me and all of us involved with World Women’s Snooker. I am already hugely excited to be able to return in 2025 and for the tournament to be even bigger and better than ever before.
“I would like to thank Mr Huang and his team at Cantonese Snooker, as well as the CBSA not only for their support, but also for their passion which has helped to elevate women’s snooker to new heights.
“It has been incredible to see what Bai Yulu has been able to achieve on the professional tour since winning the tournament last year and I have no doubt that this will only inspire more women and girls to follow in her footsteps in the future.”
