Former world No. 26 is back on court in a new role.

Camila Giorgi is back on court armed with a microphone rather than a racquet.

The former world No. 26 made her debut as a courtside reporter at this week's Argentina Open in Buenos Aires.

WTA: Stefano Vukov Will Remain Suspended

The 33-year-old Italian, who has reportedly moved to Argentina after spending time in South Florida, has conducted several player interviews for the tournament's social media channels.

As a player, Giorgi was known for giving brief and often vague answers in her post-match press conferences.

As a new media member, Giorgi seems to relish her role as an interviewer. She's asked detailed questions and has shared some of her work on social media.

The 2021 Canadian Open champion officially retired from the WTA Tour last May amid reports that Giorgi and her family were facing tax evasion charges in Italy.

“I am happy to formally announce retirement from my tennis career,” she wrote. “I am so grateful for your wonderful love and support for so many years," Giorgi said in a statement announcing her retirement. "I cherish all the beautiful memories. There have been many inaccurate rumors about my future plans so I look forward to providing more information about exciting opportunities ahead.”

In an interview with Italian TV program Verissimo last fall, Giorgi discussed her sudden retirement, reports she fled Italy to avoid a tax investigation and a couple of bizarre allegations.

“My family was not aware of the tax situation, the problems arose because of the people who managed me,” Giorgi said in the interview last fall. “When I signed to retire, chaos erupted. We never got scared, we changed the people who managed me and now we are in order.

"And I'm sorry that the blame fell on my father. I don't like the word victim, but this time it's like that."

The owner of four WTA Tour titles said reports her family failed to pay rent and stole furniture are ludicrous and "laughable" to her.

Giorgi, who said she's also interested pursuing an acting career, is the second former WTA standout to transition to tennis media this week.
