Tennis fans can celebrate a Novandy spring season.

Grand Slam king Novak Djokovic confirmed he will continue his partnership with former No. 1 Andy Murray as coach.

After Matteo Berrettini spoiled Djokovic’s comeback with a 7-6(4), 6-2 Doha win, the 37-year-old Serbian superstar was asked about his partnership with Murray that started in Australia last month.

.

“Well, we agreed to work until the end of the clay season, so we’ll see what happens after that,” Djokovic told the media in Doha.

The two-time Olympic gold-medal champion Murray and reigning Olympic gold-medal champion Djokovic are expected to reunite in Indian Wells next month. Murray was not in Doha this week.

Given world No. 1 Jannik Sinner is currently serving a three-month suspension, Djokovic will be a dangerous threat if he can find his range and rhythm after recovering from a muscle tear in his left leg that forced him to retire after one set of the Australian Open semifinal.

Working with Murray, Djokovic said his main mission is to stay healthy and do what he does best on the sport’s biggest stages.

“My game is not going to change now drastically. I’m not going to play serve and volley, maybe every once in a while, but my game is what it is, the core is going to be the same,” Djokovic told the media in Doha. “I’m going to try, obviously, to adjust depending upon the surface that I play on and so forth.

“So, yeah, there’s more injuries, for sure. Things are not the same like 10 years ago, 15 years ago. I still try to take care of my body on a daily basis, and, yeah, it’s more challenging now, no doubt, but, you know, I still try to do my very best, given the circumstances.”
