The PING Pioneer was the best PING cart bag and the best overall cart bag of 2025. It has excellent storage with roomy pockets and a dedicated cooler pocket. The 15-way top helps keep clubs organized and it’s really stable on the cart.
Who’s it for? Golfers who want maximum storage and great organization who are not bothered by a cart bag that weighs almost eight pounds.
The PING Traverse was the other PING cart bag we tested. It took fifth place overall with a score of 9.0. The Traverse lost some points for storage, dividers and overall features compared to the PING Pioneer but it’s still a top choice in 2025.
Who’s it for? Players who want a durable PING cart bag with multiple pockets and a great handle system but prefer something a little less expensive and nearly two pounds lighter.
Best PING stand bag
The PING Hoofer was the best PING stand bag and the best overall stand bag for 2025. It scored 9.6/10, is easy to carry and has plenty of storage. However, it’s not the lightest of all the PING stand bags.
Who’s it for? The PING Hoofer is the go-to stand bag. If you walk and occasionally ride, the Hoofer is the best you’ll find.
Other notable PING Stand bags:
- Hoofer 14 (fourth place overall): Just like the PING Hoofer but with a 14-way divider.
- Hoofer Lite (fifth place overall): The best golf bag for walking, weighs five pounds.
- Moonlander (10th place overall): An ultra-lightweight stand bag with decent storage.
Best PING Sunday bag
We also tested the PING Moonlite carry bag. It weighs just under two pounds and is a no-frills option with easy-to-operate zippers. The Moonlite bag doesn’t have a structure. Your clubs provide the structure. It finished ninth overall of the 12 bags we tested.
Who’s it for? Golfers looking for a minimal, affordable, grab-and-go option for a Sunday bag.
Are PING golf bags expensive?
When we test golf bags, they are ranked by their features, weight, storage and more. Price does not come into the equation. But there’s little doubt that price will impact your buying decision. Here’s some insight into where the PING bags stand when it comes to price.
- PING stand bags (e.g., Hoofer at $275) typically come in under premium competitors like Vessel (often $400+). The average pricing for a stand bag in 2025 was $280.
- The Pioneer cart bag ($315) sits below ultra-premium cart bags like Ghost GT 14 Maverik ($475) or Vessel LUX ($419) but above entry-level options under $200. The average price for a cart bag in our test was $310.
- The Moonlite ($110) is competitively priced among Sunday bags. Some of the name-brand Sunday bags run closer to $200.
