Roland-Garros 2025 Prize Money Increase Unlikely to Satiate Players

By Chris Oddo | @TheFanChild | Thursday April 17, 2025

Prize money is on the rise at Roland-Garros, but the adjusted figures might not be enough to placate the players.

Tennis Express

Overall, the prize money package has increased by 5.21% from 2024 to a total of €56,352,000, but players are seeking a much higher percentage of revenue sharing than just keeping up with inflation. Players recently penned a letter to each of the four Grand Slams enumerating their complaints, and a meeting is apparently in the works at some point between now and Roland-Garros, which kicks off main draw action on May 25.

“The various organising committees of the four grand slams received a letter and we responded by saying that we were very open to discussing matters with them,” Gilles Moretton, the president of the French Tennis Federation, said on Thursday, according to the London Times.

Nothing official appears to be on the calendar. Meanwhile, here are the updated prize money figures vs those of 2024.

PRIZE MONEY

This year, the tournament will offer a total prize pool of €56.352 million, an increase of 5.21% compared to last year (exact figure pending, but approximately +€2.87 million).
