As Hurricane Idalia heads for Florida, Disney World and other tourist destinations are preparing for the storm.

Disney World updated the cancelation and modification policy for guests traveling soon, and we’ve seen them start to prepare in the parks for possible heavy rains and wind. But now, they’ve decided to close two offerings on property.
The Disney World website has been updated to note that Typhoon Lagoon will be closed due to inclement weather on August 30th. For the same reason, Winter Summerland Miniature Golf and Fantasia Miniature Golf will also be closed.

Currently, the regular parks have not changed their operating hours, and most other things around Disney World are scheduled to be open as usual. We’ll keep you updated if any of that changes.

At this time, change and cancellation fees imposed by Disney will be waived for check-in dates of August 28th through September 5th. If your travel plans have been affected and you need to extend your stay through the evening of August 31st, you may be able to get a discounted hotel rate.

We’ll keep you in the loop with any other announcements, so stay tuned to AllEars.
