Illness has forced Gael Monfils to relinquish his wild card into next week’s Rolex Paris Masters.
A two-time Paris finalist in 2009 and 2010, Monfils withdrew from his Vienna round of 16 match with an illness and opted to give up his Paris wild card.
The Rolex Paris Masters is set for October 28-November 3rd in Bercy.
The 38-year-old Monfils’ departure resulted in Arthur Rinderknech receiving the wild card initially allocated to Monfils.

Rinderknech joins former world No. 7 Richard Gasquet, who announced he will retire after the 2025 Roland Garros, will play Bercy for the 17th time, Adrian Mannarino and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard as one of four Frenchmen to receive a Paris main-draw wild card.
The French Tennis Federation says Monfils remains an alternate and could still gain entry to the main draw if other players withdraw.
