The final ranking event of the calendar year is held in Edinburgh from Monday as the Scottish Open gets underway in style.
The world’s top 16 are in action on the opening day, although Neil Robertson will not be in attendance as he hasn’t entered.
The Scottish Open is a big tournament on its own but will also be crucial for players hoping to reach the World Grand Prix next month in Leicester.
The top 32 on the one-year list qualify for the Grand Prix so there will be vital ranking points on offer in the Scottish capital to make the cut.
Gary Wilson was the surprise winner last year as he beat Joe O’Connor in the final to lift his first ranking title.
